Lot 27: Two Heads, Two Ways

Trulee Hall

Auction Ended

Hall creates video, painting, sculpture and multimedia installations that propose an uncanny hyper-reality, rife with tongue-in-cheek comedy and often teetering between flirty funhouse and technicolor nightmare.

Hall’s ‘Two Heads, Two Ways’ uses the metaphor and physicality of a two-headed body, to explore how multiple personalities and possibilities
of self are visualised. A dark onanistic fantasy of sex dolls and self-love unfolds by means of an out-of-body experience. Her body parts separate and multiply as her other self – her alter ego – becomes her lover. She received her MFA from CalArts in 2006. Hall’s first gallery solo exhibition, The Other and Otherwise, was held at Maccarone, Los Angeles in 2019.

Lives and works in Los Angeles, USA.
