Prendergast is a sculptor, draughtsman and painter. Her work explores a variety of issues including power, identity, landscape, memory, geography, family and the female body, often manifested through mapping by alluding to subjectivity of maps, their inherent colonialism, the fragility of border and territory over time.
She has exhibited widely since the 1980’s. She participated in the Sydney Biennale and at the ICA Boston, the Drawing Centre and PS1, New York. She is represented in many private and museum collections including Tate, Albright-Knox Museum and the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
Lives and works in London.
