We will tour Skarstedt’s exhibition of works by Yuan Fang coupled with a family friendly arts activity to coincide with the exhibition
Skarstedt is thrilled to host Yuan Fang’s (b. 1996) first solo exhibition in London this Summer following recent international recognition. The exhibition titled Dangerous Waters showcases a fresh body of work consisting of twelve masterfully abstracted compositions. Since moving to New York City at the age of 18, Fang was exposed to the gestural and expressive abstractions of Willem de Kooning, Francis Bacon and Cecily Brown who informed and inspired her practice. Immersing herself in a world of abstraction provides a much-needed respite from day-to-day life yet her wild organic forms are tied to notions of female body, landscape, space, and time. In keeping with the exhibition title, the cyclical strokes conjure strong oceanic associations, reminding us of the inevitability of nature and the uncertain times we live in.
This will be followed by an exclusive visit to Lévy Gorvy Dayan Gallery with artist N. DASH
This solo exhibition of new paintings by New York-based artist N. Dash, will be inaugurating the gallery’s new location in London’s Mayfair district. N. Dash’s practice is grounded in and distinguished by bringing together organic substances, manufactured readymade objects, and images resulting from embodied processes. The tactile surfaces of these restrained, luminous works emphasize haptic experience, drawing attention to the subtle yet seismic effects of touch.
Lévy Gorvy Dayan exists to be a trusted and supportive home to artists, estates, and the creative conversation. Helmed by Dominique Lévy, Brett Gorvy, and Amalia Dayan, the gallery aims to use its platform and programming to enhance and extend the reach of artists, and to strengthen their legacies.
