Be’eri Plant Bed, Hosted Project

The Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art

The stories of families from Kibbutz Beeri through plants left behind in the aftermath of October 7, 2023.

This installation is a documentation of an event beyond our grasp. In it, the plants testify to both what is gone and what remains. They bear witness to the deep connections formed between an individual and their home, the land they inhabit, and the life that persists amid the ruins.

The field guide provides insight into the characteristics of the plant, the story of the family and home it is sourced from, and the method by which it was collected.
