ICOM Israel
The Israel Museums Association and ICOM is a registered non-profit organization (according to the Non-Profit Organizations Law) whose main goals are:
- Cooperation between museums in Israel and their employees.
- Organization and activity of professional divisions (International Committees) according to museum topics determined and defined by the International Organization of Museums in Paris. The divisions are independent, operate according to the principles of ICOM and maintain close ties with the association.
- Professional advancement of museum staff by holding professional conferences, awarding scholarships, publishing information and articles on museum topics, and the like.
- To disseminate to the public and instill in them the purpose and role of museums.
- Develop professional relationships with educational and cultural institutions in Israel and with similar institutions abroad.
- To try to unite all museums in the country within the framework of the association, and to the extent possible, to represent them towards the government, the Museum Council, and public institutions.
