Israel is currently dealing with the challenge of overcoming intolerance. There is currently a great deal of concern over the wellbeing of children from families which have only recently arrived in Israel (particularly migrants from Ethiopia and Russia). Against this background, the Tel Aviv Museum is actively reaching out to these families by allowing their children to visit the Museum free of charge. With BFAMI’s help, some of Israel’s poorest young immigrants ranging from pre-school to adolescents are given guided tours through the Museum’s extensive and world-renowned collection, giving them invaluable exposure to great works of art along with practical hands-on workshops in painting, photography and ceramics.
