Art in 1980s Israel

1st Mar 2008

As part of the celebrations marking the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel, the six major Art Museums in the country were tasked with exhibiting from a different decade in Israeli art. The 1980s were a time when the subject of “identity” was closely examined and the subject still resonates today. The exhibition opened in late 2008 and ran throughout the following year, allowing visitors from every facet of Israeli society (schoolchildren in particular) to visit and begin a dialogue between them.
